What are the requirements of Capital City Nannies?

Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience, minimum of 3 professional childcare references, 18 years of age, must be able to make a 1 year commitment, must be a non smoker, must have a clean driving record, must be a US Citizen and/or have a valid Greencard or work permit, must have a willingness to undergo a federal and criminal, sex offender and social security check and must have up to date CPR & first aid certification.

After you submit your application, Capital City Nannies will be in touch within 48 hours to verify the information in your application. Once determined that your qualifications match our requirements, we will set up a time to conduct an in person interview. Once we conduct an in-person interview we will add you to our registry and you will be able to see open nanny positions.

What is the average pay for Capital City Nannies?

Depending on your experience and education, you can expect to be paid $16-20/Hour for care.

Is there a time commitment I must give to each family?

Yes. For permanent positions, we ask that you give families a 1 year commitment.

Do Capital City Nannies get benefits from families?

How long can I expect to wait for be placed with a family?

The waiting period to be placed with a family can be anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. Every family has specific childcare needs and we aim to place the right nanny with the family that would suit their style best.

Does Capital City Nannies offer training?

Capital City Nannies in conjunction with The Newborn Care Training Academy offer newborn care classes every three months. The next newborn care class will be held February 20-21, 2016 in Washington D.C. From time to time we may have other offerings, in which we will post on our site and/or social media pages.
